DILI, 04 january 2022 (TATOLI) – The Director of Cipriano Felix Ltd, Arsénio da Costa Cabral Pinto said that his company had cultivated more than seven hectares of taro and sweet potato in the Administrative Post of Lospalos, Lautém municipality.
He said the initiative of growing these two local foods aimed at strengthening local food production in the country.
“We have invested in growing these two types of food because the government included taro and sweet potato in its Food Basket Program,” Pinto said.
Cipriano Felix Ltd had also prepared over 20 hectares for the cultivation of other local foods including maize, coconut, etc.
“We have also invested in livestock. Right now, we have 47 large-breed white pigs and 48 local cows. In addition, we also plan to start our duck farm in the near future,” he added.
Cipriano Felix Ltd has a total of seven staff members, 14 contract employees, and 10 seasonal workers.
On december 22, 2022, TradeInvest Timor-Leste granted an Investment Certificate to Cipriano Felix Ltd to start its business in the country.
