Over 13,000 outstanding students will receive subsidies from Gov’t Ministry of Education

DILI, 16 january (2022)– The Government of Timor – Leste through the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) will provide subsidies to over 13,000 outstanding students in all schools in Timor – Leste.

The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Armindo Maia, said the purpose of providing subsidies to students was to motivate them to study hard.

“We provide subsidies to outstanding students to encourage and motivate them to study hard because they are the future of the country,” the Minister of Education, Armindo Maia told reporters at High School 04 UNAMET Balide, Dili, on Monday.

The Minister of Education, Armindo Maia, added that MoEYS is waiting for the lists of outstanding students from each school to process the payments for these students.

“All the heads of schools are required to cooperate with MoEYS to send the names of outstanding students to process the subsidies,” he said.

Meanwhile, the budget for the subsidies worth 7.2 million, will be distributed to over 13,000 students.

The students consist of elementary, junior high, and high school in the national territory of Timor – Leste.

While of this number of students, the first classification will receive $ 600,00, the second classification and third classification will receive $500,00.
