DILI, 16 january 2023 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta, and his delegation, left today for Switzerland to participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) to be held from 16 to 20 january 2023.
“This year, I was invited by WFE President Børge Brende to participate in the WEF,” President Horta said in a statement.
Horta said that his State visit to Switzerland will be a good opportunity to promote the tourism potential of Timor-Leste.
Being considered one of the best tourist destinations in the region, Horta has been promoting Timorese coffee not only in the country but also abroad: “I want to see more of the Timorese coffee’s fame in the world. Therefore, I have been promoting Timorese coffee all over the world.”
Horta will meet with different leaders and investors from around the world during the WEF meeting to discuss bilateral relations.
President Horta and his delegation would return to Timor-Leste on january 21, 2023.
The National Parliament approves the state visit of the Head of State to Switzerland with 46 votes in favor, zero against, and no abstentions.
