DILI, january 18, 2023 (TATOLI) – Director of the Municipal Health Service, Agostinha Segurado said Dili health Authority has recorded 17 new cases of dengue since the beginning of the year.

“Since the beginning of 2023, we have found 17 cases of dengue fever. But all the patients recovered, so therefore compared to last year, the number of dengue cases has decreased,” Segurado said in Timor Plaza.

Segurado explained that the patients infected with dengue belonged to the Dom Aleixo, Vera Cruz, Cristo Rei, Na’in Feto, and Metinaro Health Centers.

Question about the intervention of the health team working in Dili municipal, Agostinha Segurado explained that they had distributed chemical products to residents and fumigated the homes of infected patients.

She also assured that the team is working closely with local authorities to determine the relative contract of those who are infected.

As mentioned, Minister of Health Odete Belo has appealed to communities to conduct cleaning activities in the household and environment to prevent the disease.
