MTCI-Lai-Ara agency organized cars for transporting tourists arriving with MS Paul Gauguin Cruises

DILI, 01 february 2023 (TATOLI) – The Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry (MTCI), Jelino Soares, informed, his office has coordinated with the Lai-Ara travel agency to prepare nine buses to receive tourists from MS Paul Gauguin Cruises Australia.

In addition to these coordination efforts, MTCI also cooperates with the Timor-Leste National Police and the Immigration and Customs Service, including these agencies for the preventive measures to control Covid-19.

“We are coordinating with Lai-Ara to prepare nine buses to wait for tourists at Dili Port. These buses will take tourists to visit the desired tourist sites,” said Jelino Soares to Tatoli, in Farol.

Soares convinced MTCI to coordinate with Timor-Leste’s Be’e company to supply water to public toilets in Dili.

Question the MTCI’s plans the organizing a handicraft exhibition for tourists, Director Soares said, that the information on their arrival came in a short time and, therefore, last month, he could not organize the exhibition, but “we inform our local craft businesses to sell their products and we have a market for it, a place tourists can go and buy.”

Recently Monday, the Chief Operating Officer of Lai-Ara Agency, Jorgino Ribeiro, informed the arrival date of the cruise ship MS Paul Gauguin from Australia to Dili which was set to be february 2.

Soares detailed that tourists will visit the Timor Resistance Archives and Museum, Tais Colmera Market, Cristo Rei, Chega National Center, as well as Timor Global in Railaco, Ermera, and Fort Maubara, in Liquiçá.
