DILI, 03 february 2023 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adaljiza Magno, participate in the 32nd of ASEAN Coordinating Council Meetings (ACCM), and the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ (AMM) Retreat, which takes place on 03 – 04 of February 2023, at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta- Indonesia.

“The participation of Timor-Leste in these events will mark a historical moment, which will lay a solid stepping stone for Timor-Leste to become part of the ASEAN family” Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adaljiza Magno said in a statement seen by TATOLI in friday.

On that occasion Minister Magno also had bilateral meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Prak Sokhonn, to discuss various bilateral matters, including Timor-Leste’s accession to ASEAN, labor mobility, Economic Diversification, and others.

While at the meeting with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Enrique Manalo, to thank the Philippines government for all the support provided to Timor-Leste, especially during the accession process of Timor-Leste accession into ASEAN.

Minister Magno will then have further bilateral meetings, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Saleumxay Kommasith, and the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam Erywan bin Pehin Yusof, to reinforce the existing excellent bilateral relations by further exploring future areas of cooperation between the two countries.
