JAKARTA, 13 february 2023 (TATOLI) – Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak and the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, strengthen the bilateral cooperation of the two countries in several areas.
The agreements were signed during the official meeting between Prime Minister Ruak and President Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Bogor City, West Java Province, on Monday, 13 February 2023.
According to the Official Website of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the agreement covered five important areas, including the establishment of an Economic Zone, Education Cooperation Agreement, Human Resources and Institutional Capacity Development, Industry, and agreement on Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics.
Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of Economic Zones in Border Areas was signed by the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste.
Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Higher Education, signed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia and the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste.
The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Human Resources and Institutional Capacity Development was signed by the Head of the Indonesian General Election Commission (GEC) and the Head of the National Election Commission (CNE) of Timor-Leste.
The Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Technical Cooperation was signed by the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Minister of Tourism, Trade, and Industry of Timor-Leste.
Memorandum of Understanding on Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Cooperation, was signed by the Head of BMKG RI and the Minister of Transport and Communications of Timor-Leste.
“Following the signing of the agreement, the memorandum of understanding was read out when President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak made a joint press statement at Lotus Room in Bogor Palace,” the official website of the President of the Republic of Indonesia said.
