DILI, 02 march 2023 (TATOLI)—The State Secretariat for Professional Training and Employment (SoSVTE) through the National Directorate of Foreign Workers (NDFW) this month reopened the online enrollment of labor candidates for the Pacific Australia Labor Mobility program scheme (PALMS).
The Director General of SEFOPE, Paulo Alves said that this opportunity is offered to over 41,000 workers.
“SEFOPE wishes to give candidates another opportunity to apply for this program. SEFOPE recorded, 41,000 candidates in the system, and of the number, 14,000 candidates did not follow the criteria in the system,” explained Paulo Alves at the SoSVTE office, Caicoli, this Wednesday.
He said applicants whose names have been registered in the system in 2022 registration do not need to repeat the registration.
SoSVTE itself continues to strive to open up opportunities for all Timorese youth and hopes to achieve the target of 8,000 workers.
The application process for labor candidates to Australia will be open for 10 days from 06 to 17 March 2023. Recruitment is open to all applicants from 13 Municipalities including RAEOA.
“Our team will evaluate with the support of the Australian PALM Scheme program until it is final and the results will be published on April 10, 2023,” he said.
The recruitment offers a wide range of industries, such as Meat Manufacturing, Agriculture/Garden, Fishing, Production-Processing Line (general), Hospitality/Accommodation, Trade, Specialized Cleaning Jobs, Electrical Engineers, Drivers, and Construction.
This registration will assist DNEE to select relevant candidates for semi-skilled opportunities under the PALM Scheme to complete the Work Ready Pool system in preparation for future recruitment.
The general criteria that apply consist of Timorese Citizens, and other citizens who are living over those 10 years in Timor-Leste, aged between 21 and 36, and, have a good understanding of written and spoken English.
