DILI, 31 march 2023 (TATOLI) – AHHA Education plans to establish a Japanese language training program to develop the Japanese language skills of young Timorese who dream of studying and working in Japan.
The program aims to support the government’s plan to send young Timorese to work in Japan.
AHHA Education Director C.D. Singh said his NGO has been offering a range of language training, including English, Portuguese, and Korean: “Now, we plan to add Japanese language to improve the Japanese language skills of youth.”
“Many young Timorese are interested in learning the Japanese language and therefore we want to help them get the opportunities to be able to go and work in Japan,” Singh said.
In addition to language training, AHHA Education also delivers life-changing education to thousands of students daily, covering capacity building, empowerment, language training, social consciousness, practical skills, computer literacy, mathematics, leadership and public speaking, self-confidence, and community development.
“These teaching and learning programs are designed to support young Timorese across the country to have the capacity to contribute to national development and to be able to work abroad as well,” he explained.
More than 200 young Timorese had been sent to several ASEAN countries under the AHHA educational exchange program, including Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and Malaysia.
Since its establishment in 2006, in Timor-Leste, AHHA Education has provided English language training to more than 100,000 young Timorese across the country.
AHHA Education has a main center in Becora, Dili, and has established a total of 48 branches in 13 municipalities, including the RAEOA.
With 48 branches throughout the country, making AHHA Education the largest international NGO operating in the country.
