DILI, 18 april 2023 (TATOLI) – The National Director of Public Health, Frederico Bosco said, since two weeks in mid-April, the Ministry of Health has recorded 121 new cases of dengue cases and two fatalities.
“From April 1 to April 18 we recorded 121 cases of dengue fever, of which two deaths were recorded including children under the age of five, from the municipalities of Dili and Liquiça,” Frederico Bosco told Tatoli today.
Bosco said that most dengue cases were recorded from Dili, Lautem, Baucau, Bobonaro, Ermera, Liquiça, and Viqueque.
Therefore, the Ministry of Health came up with its interventions and conventional methods to carry out education promotion, and advocacy involving community leadership to support preventive methods, in every community home including individuals.
“The very basic step is to clean up the environment and keep it clean, including clean up all the water drains,” he said.
Meanwhile, from January to April, the Ministry of Health recorded more than 741 cases of dengue fever and five deaths.
