DILI, 23 april 2023 (TATOLI) – The Technical Secretariat for Election Administration (STAE) registered a total of 890,145 voters eligible to cast the ballots including 878,345 voters in the national territory and 11,800 voters abroad.

“Of the 890,145 eligible voters, 462,316 were male and 427,829 female”, wrote a government source seen by Tatoli.

According to STAE, 34,962 voters in Aileu; in Ainaro, 47,912; on Ataúro, 7.598; in Baucau, 99.158; in Bobonaro, 72,537 voters; in Covalima, 49,299 voters; in Dili, 187,462; in Ermera, 85.358; in Lautém, 49,435; in Liquiçá, 53,084 voters; in Manatuto, 36,547 voters; in Manufahi, 42,136 voters; in the RAEOA, 54,291 and Viqueque there are 58,566 voters.

Of the 11,800 voters living overseas, 2,242 were in Australia, 1,597 in South Korea, 2,415 in Ireland, 1,836 in Portugal, and 3,710 in the UK.

For parliamentary elections, STAE will provide 1,472 voting centers and 1,850 voting stations.

Previously in the 2022 presidential election, STAE recorded 864,754 voters, or 2.9% less than the number of voters for the parliamentary election.
