Ataúru, 27 april  2023 (TATOLI)– The Ministry of State Administration offers capacity building on the Social Inclusion, Disabilities, Gender Equality (GETDSI) program for 50 public servants in Atauro Municipality.

GETDSI President, Agostinho Da Costa said the main purpose of the training was to share knowledge on social inclusion with all municipal civil servants to enhance their knowledge and participation to contribute to the country’s development.

“We share appropriate knowledge on Gender equality, social inclusion, and Disabilities. Civil servants should understand this program to provide advocacy to the community to empower them to be able to become decision makers at the family and community level,” GETDSI President, Agostinho Da Costa told TATOLI at his STAE room, Mau-Meta Villa, this Thursday.

He added that civil servants will design appropriate planning that focuses on advocating social inclusion. While program implementation must be sensitive to gender inequality and also sensitive to persons with disabilities, women, and girls.

According to Costa, it is important and very necessary to provide advocacy to the local authority and also potential women in each village, aiming to educate them on how to provide the same services to everyone.

“Many Timorese women are not participating in important training, therefore the MoSA is coordinating with the Secretary of State for Gender Inequality and Inclusion to provide more training in all municipalities in Timor-Leste to support women to participate effectively in every training of political, economic, social issues and others for the development of this country by leaving no one behind “

The training participants consisted of public staff from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of State Administration, Ministry of Finance, and others in Atauro.

This training is given over 4 days Tuesday to Friday and is funded by the Australian government through DEFAT.
