DILI, june 10, 2023 (TATOLI)- The President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta congratulated the Democratic Party on the 22nd Anniversary of its existence in TL.
President Horta said the Democratic Party is a big party and an old party since its founding in 2002.
“PD has gained a lot of experience in the world of politics. On this 22nd anniversary PD will be more mature and have great knowledge to contribute to the development of the country,” said President Horta told reporters at Colmera, this Saturday.
He said PD must be prepared to contribute to the country’s development in many sectors.
Today the Democratic Party will join a new government, a party consisting of young people, or a new generation.
“I promise that in my mandate as president of the Republic for the remaining 4 years, I will cooperate with all political parties, especially the new generation of political parties,” said Horta.
Horta also remains PD to avoid discrimination or abuse of power within the government structure.
Democratic Party President Mariano Assanami Sabino said in turn that today is a great day and a great moment for his party to celebrate its 22nd anniversary.
“I congratulate all ranks of the Democratic Party and people who are members of this political party, for all of your contributions at this time we can achieve victory,” said the President of the Democratic Political Party, Mariano Assanami Sabino.
PD is committed to driving the country’s economic development to ensure that the people of Timor Leste gain prosperity.
“We continue to prioritize the democratic system as the main goal of our heroes who have suffered and sacrificed for the country’s independence,” he concluded.
