DILI, 14 june 2023 ( TATOLI)- National Director of the Infrastructure Development of the State Secretariat for Youth and Sports (SSYS), Maria Luisa Monteiro, informed that the construction of 4 football fields by SSYS together with partners of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has reached 28, 61 %.
“The construction of 4 soccer fields in Dili by SSYS and KOICA is currently underway and the cumulative progress has reached 28.61%. The four soccer fields are composed of 1 integrated sports center in Becora including the dormitory while the other branches of football fields such as; the Bidau football field, the football field of Kampung Alor, and the football field of Malinamuk Comoro,” said Luisa Monteiro to TATOLI at her office Licidere, Dili.
Lusia Monteiro explained that the construction of four football fields followed the bilateral cooperation which is conducted by the Eight Constitutional Government of Timor – Leste through SSYS in 2022.
The funded of construction was donated by Korean Government through KOICA worth $2.4 million to Timor-Leste’s State Secretary of Youth and Sport (SSYS)and constructed by Community Housing Limited (CHL) Unipesoal Lda.
Previously the Executive Director of the company of CHL Unipesoal Lda, Jocelino Belmarco said his company had signed a contract agreement with KOICA on october 7, 2022.
“We have been signed the contract work, with a total budget worth $ 2,4 million, these football field projects will be constructed over 18 months starting from 7 October 2022 to March 2024, and further will handover to the Government to develop the football sport in Timor – Leste,” he said.
