DILI, 11 july 2023 (TATOLI) – The President of Carrying Water Project (CWP) Global, Kon Yosuke met with the newly appointed Secretary of State for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE), Rogerio Araújo Mendonça to discuss the preparation to send young Timorese engineers to participate in Water Management Training in Japan.
Yosuke told reporters that young engineers from the National Centre for Employment and Vocational Training (CNEFP Tibar) and others will be sent to Japan to learn and improve their skills in water management.
“They will return to contribute to the country’s water management,” Yosuke said at the SEFOPE office, in Dili, today.
The training program is part of international cooperation between Timor-Leste and Japan on capacity building and training.
“So, during the meeting, we discussed the roadmap for the implementation of the program. It is a time of preparation and SEFOPE is very supportive of the program. We will work hard for the great future of the two nations,” he said.
In order to send the Timorese to train in Japan, CWP Global previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CNEFP Tibar.
Echoing Yosuke’s statement, Mendonça said the training is good for Timorese engineers to learn the importance of respecting work hours and work ethics.
“The training is essential for Timorese to be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for today’s job market,” he guaranteed .
