DILI, 14 july 2023 (TATOLI) – The Deputy Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Adérito Hugo da Costa, on thursday presented the program of the IX Constitutional Government to the National Parliament for approval.
The Program is made up of six main areas, namely the reaffirmation of the democratic rule of law, the development of social capital, the development of infrastructure, the development of the economy, government consolidation and good governance, and the fight against corruption.
Minister Hugo said the 160-page document containing the program for the next five years will be discussed in the coming days.
He said that the date for the discussion of the program will be decided by the leaders of the political parties’ benches in the National Parliament.
The new Bishop of the Diocese of Baucau, Leandro Maria Alves, urges the Timorese people to support the program of the IX Constitutional Government: “With the new government’s program being introduced, we will do our part through various ways to support our government in successfully implementing its program to benefit the people.”
“We all know that the Timorese people are waiting for the new government to make changes that will result in new things with their program. Despite this, many things have already been done, but we hope that many more will be done,” said Bishop Alves.
