DILI, 18 july (TATOLI)- National Communication Authority in Timor-Leste (NCA-TL) together with Singapore Information and Technology Union (ITU) WELCHMANKEEN experts conducted three days’ workshop for Cyberforgood Training for relevant entities in Timor-Leste.
President of NCA, João Oliveira Freitas said it is a great moment to welcome all guests to the Cyber4good training, this crucial initiative aimed at bloster8ng cybersecurity efforts and promoting digital resilience in this country.
“It brings me immense pride to witness the gathering of enthusiastic minds and dedicated professionals who are committed to safeguarding our nation’s digital landscape, ” The President of NCA, João Oliveira Freitas told journalists in the Ministry of Tourism conference room, Caicoli, this Tuesday.
He added this workshop activity is a part of Information and Technology IT programs, therefore the comprehensive subjects that will be offered in this workshop will be covered six topics including National Cyber Security Strategy Lifecycle, Critical National Information Infrastructure Protection, Data Protection & Privacy, Cybersecurity for e-Government Service and Creating & Managing a CERT.
The Singapore ITU’s expert, Aaron Josep Boyd said:” We are a Singapore-based consultancy and we are seen as a sector member of the ITU Development Bureau under the Partner to Connect program. We are here to offer a contribution to cyber security training and under this cyber security training,”
“There are three days of training, we have 52 different training modules, and of those, your telecommunications Authority has selected six topics around Cyber Security Strategies at the national level around data privacy, around critical,’’ He said
He added that these are topics that are important around the world for everyone, but particularly as countries move forward and develop and become increasingly reliant on Technologies.
“We will be presenting some best practices and ideas about how to also secure and create the right kind of conditions from a policy perspective, from a regulatory perspective that will ensure that the people can use the technology safely and securely to avoid some of the problems that happen with our families and communities around misinformation, around cyber-attacks. This workshop helps us don’t want to lose control of our information and don’t want to lose power,’’ He explained
It is known that that which participated by relevant entities composed of professional staff from the Central Bank of Timor-Leste (TLCB), National Police of Timor-Leste, and Criminal Investigation Police (PCIC), Ministers of Defense, Attorney General, and others.
