DILI, 18 september 2023 (TATOLI)– Market Development Facility ( MDF) and Hotel Owners Timor Lorosa’e (HOTL) today conducted the workshop of ‘Tourism Industry Day’ to develop Digital Marketing to the World.
The Country Director of MDF in Timor-Leste, Drew Johnson, said MDF is an initiative funded by the Government of Australia to promote sustainable economic growth in Timor-Leste, working in two sectors: Agriculture and Tourism.
“Since 2012, MDF has connected individuals, businesses, government, and non-government organizations to promote inclusive economic growth,” the Country Director of MDF, Drew Jhonson told reporters at Hotel Timor, Colmera Dili on monday.
Johnson added the initiative is implemented by Palladium in partnership with Swiss contact. Hotel Owners Timor Lorosa’e (HOTL) is composed of major hotel representatives and accommodation providers in Timor-Leste.
At the same place the President of HOTL, Samitha Aluwihare, said to promote Timor-Leste as a tourism destination, MDF collaborates with the Hotel Owners Timor Lorosa’e Association (HOTL), organizing Tourism Industry Day: Digital Marketing, to the World through a workshop among HOTL members and the Trip Advisor platform, to enhance the visibility of tourism services in Timor-Leste by effectively using the Trip Advisor platform.
“Through this workshop, they can create and strengthen collaborations among tourism service providers and facilitate meaningful discussions to bring benefits and advantages to their businesses,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the participants of this workshop are coming from 60 hotel owners in Dili including several tourism businesses, hopefully, this workshop will help them to manage their hotels and the tourism business to attract many tourists to visit Timor – Leste to diversify the growth of the economy in Timor – Leste in the future.
