DILI, 17 november 2023 (TATOLI) – The National Directorate for Land Transport (DNTT) collected US$1.8 million from january to october 2023.
The National Director of Land Transport (DNTT) of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTK), Maria Antonia Vitor said: “The US$1.8 is collected from the verification and inspection of the imported motor vehicles’ and the issuance of number plate registration.
From january to october, the DNTT imported a total of 22,664 vehicles, including 4,488 cars and 18,176 motorbikes.
“Of the 22,664 vehicles, 242 cars and 67 motorbikes were imported through the Batugade border crossing in the municipality of Bobonaro, and 4,246 cars and 18,109 motorbikes were imported through the Tibar Port,” he said.
DNTT is responsible for verification and inspection of the imported motor vehicles’ conditions which are done through confirmation from the approved permit by MTCI. The directorate is also responsible for the issuance of number plate registration. All these activities are done through the TileSW system.
