MTI to hold International Business Forum in Dili


DILI, 20 november 2023 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) will organize a three-day International Business Forum, bringing together entrepreneurs and businessmen to share knowledge and experiences.

The International Business Forum will take place at the GMN Multi-Function Hall, in Dili, from 23 to 25 november, 2023.

Vice-Prime Minister and Minister Coordinator for Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, said that the forum will be co-organized by the MTI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI- TL).

“It will be the first time that Timor-Leste organizes the forum, with the aim of promoting Timor-Leste’s private sector, but also to promote Timor-Leste’s tourism,” said Kalbuadi.

He said that the sharing of knowledge and experience between the private sector and the government is important for boosting investment in the country.

More than 300 entrepreneurs will take part in the forum, where they will have the opportunity to create connections to work together in the future.

“Entrepreneurs from Singapore, Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, and Brazil are invited to participate in the International Business Forum,” said Kalbuadi. “During the three-day forum, the discussion will focus on agriculture, tourism, oil and gas exploration, mining, etc.”

At the same place, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Timor-Leste (CCI-TL), Jorge Serrano, appreciated MTI’s initiative to organize the event.

He said that CCI-TL will cooperate with international investors and invite them to invest in Timor-Leste.
