50,578 Timorese’ candidates workers are eligible for the next stage

DILI, 14 december 2023 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s government announced the result of Timorese who applied for the PALM (Pacific Australia Labour Mobility) scheme to work in Australia through the online system on wednesday.

The candidates, consisting of 31,274 men and 19,314 women, will face the next stage and follow the written test and interview process in each municipality in early february 2024.

“The candidates who are already in the online system do not mean that they have passed, but they will take the written test and interview again, and their names will be entered into the Work Ready system,” the State Secretary for Professional Training and Employment (SEFOPE), Rogério Araújo Mendonça, said in a press conference to the media at the SEFOPE office in Caicoli, Dili.

Rogerio also called on the applicants who have not passed the written test and interview phase to study hard.

“SEFOPE is continuing to provide opportunities to participate in English training in each municipality and training centers that have been established and supported by SEFOPE to be able to retake the written test and interview at the next stage,” he stated.

In turn, the General Director of Foreign Employment (DNEE), Carlito Cabral Rosário, reported that of the 50,578 candidates who registered through the online system, the municipalities of Aileu numbered 3,395, Ainaro (2. 967), Ataúro (262), Baucau (7,044), Bobonaro (4,675), Covalima (3,181), Dili (8,281), Ermera (5,522), Lautém (3,353), Liquiçá (2. 567), Manatuto (2,096), Manufahi (2,471), RAEOA (Special Administrative Region of Oe-cusse Ambeno) 990, and Viqueque totaled 3,774.
