New Zealand Embassy announces 12 newest recipients of Manaaki Scholarship

DILI, 11 january 2024 (TATOLI) – The Government of New Zealand, through its Embassy in Dili has officially announced the 12 newest recipients of a prestigious Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship.

The New Zealand Embassy congratulates the 12 recipients of a prestigious Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship.

“These scholarships will equip scholars with new skills, knowledge, and experiences, to assist them as they work for Timor-Leste’s social and economic development,” said in a statement.

The twelve scholars will depart this month to commence their tertiary scholarship at world-class New Zealand universities.

A pre-departure briefing was held on 9 january to thank the scholars for choosing New Zealand, to acknowledge their success in the selection from a very competitive field of applicants, and to wish them the very best for their upcoming degree studies.

New Zealand Scholarships are prestigious scholarships for international students from developing countries to study in New Zealand. The scholarships foster and build potential leaders, as well as equip individuals with skills and knowledge to benefit their country.

Studying with a New Zealand Scholarship is a great opportunity for personal and academic growth, unique experiences, and career development.

  • Bernadete Cencia Lay – Master of Health – Victoria University of Wellington

  • Feliciana Maria Correia – Master of Water Science and Management – University of Canterbury
  • Marciana Guterres – Bachelor of Commerce (marketing) – University of Canterbury
