DILI, 01 february 2024 (TATOLI) – As part of the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of Timorese National Defense (F-FDTL) promote 210 officers from various units to higher ranks.
Among the 210 officers, a military woman and a chaplain were also promoted to captain.
The promotion ceremony will take place at the F-FDTL Headquarters in Fatuhada, Dili on february 2.
Chief of Staff of the F-FDTL, Lieutenant General Falur Rate Laek said: “The institution, despite the constraints it faces, has not lost the spirit of war, the spirit of resistance, the spirit of resilience, and the strength of will.”
MP Natalino dos Santos from the CNRT party called on the F-FDTL and the Ministry of Defence to focus on training human resources and modernizing the institution, with a view to ensuring peace and stability in the country.
The event will be attended by the Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Army, the Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Armed Forces, the representative of the Chief of Staff of the Australian Armed Forces, the Major General of the United States of America, as well as the Defense Attachés of Canada and New Zealand, among others.
