DILI, 24 february 2024 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta, on saturday, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bendito Freitas, the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Coordination of Social Affairs and Minister of Rural Development and Community Housing, Mariano Asanami Sabino, the Ambassador of Timor-Leste in Singapore, Alex Tilman together with the President of AERO DILI, Lourenço Oliveira and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore Changi, launched the inaugural flight of Timorese airline Aero Dili, which will fly from Dili to Singapore and Singapore to Dili.
The launch of the Aero Dili route Dili-Singapore will strengthen the air connectivity between Timor-Leste and Singapore.
The Head of State said this maiden launch marks a milestone for Timor-Leste as Aero Dili can now fly from Dili to Singapore and Singapore to Dili.
According to Aero Dili’s flight schedule, there will be two flights per week, on tuesdays and saturdays from Dili to Singapore and on sundays and wednesdays from Singapore to Dili.
The inauguration was attended by the Head of State himself with his delegation, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the president of BNCTL bank and also entities from ANNATL, authorities from Changi Airport Singapore, including ambassadors accredited between Singapore and Timor-Leste.
