DILI, 17 april 2024 (TATOLI) – The elections of village heads, and village councils will take place on april 27 and there are 41 candidates, 39 men and two women are ready to compete.
The village head elections will take place in four municipalities, including Aileu, Dili, Manatuto, and Viqueque.
According to a statement from the Ministry of State Administration, there are nine candidates in Madohi, six in Bebonuk, five in Lequitura and Ailoc, four in Builo and Manleuana, three in Laicore, two in Bocolelo and Sikone-Siloli and one in Mantelolão.
According to the Director General of the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration, Elviro Fernandes Moniz, there are currently 33,176 voters to participate in the election.
He added that US$276,000 had been allocated for the realization of elections, adding 252 electoral professionals would be recruited to facilitate the election.
