DILI, 17 april 2024 (TATOLI) – The Presidency of the Republic continues to provide social support to families with disabilities (PwD) in the Administrative Posts of Fatululik, Fohorem, Tiliomar, Zumalai, and Fatumea, in Covalima Municipality.
Social support such as Rice, Cooking Oil, and Food Parcels, including Blankets, is provided through the Office of Social Inclusion Affairs, Presidency of the Republic. This support is given to the households where people with disabilities live.
In his intervention, the Principal Advisor on Social Inclusion Affairs, Gaspar Afonso, said: “This support is a continuation of the initiative of the President of the Republic, regarding social inclusion, so as not to leave anyone behind and to show love for them (PwD).”
Afonso said that the presidency of the Republic not only provided basic needs but also saw their living conditions: “Better policy is needed to serve PwD better in rural areas.”
Afonso said that the PwD representative at the Presidential Palace will put efforts to ensure that every person with with disability will receive the social support offered by the Presidency of the Republic.
Meanwhile, Alfredo de Araujo, Chief of Belulik-Kraik Village, on behalf of the PWD expressed his gratitude to the current Head of State: “I feel happy and grateful because our community, especially people with disabilities has received support from the President of the Republic.”
