DILI, 08 may 2024 (TATOLI) – The Civil Society Support Office (GASC) has made US$6 available to support 148 civil society organizations.
The GASC Coordinator, Joaquim Freitas, said that this grant aims to support the initiatives of civil society organizations, especially those that promote human rights, civic education, and community empowerment.
According to Freitas, more than 300 organizations applied for the grant, and only 148 of them were selected.
He stressed the importance of working in partnership with civil society organizations to implement some of the Executive’s programs, adding that a GASC team will monitor the implementation of each organization’s budget.
The Executive Director of the Timor-Leste Non-Governmental Organization Forum, Valentim Pinto, thanked GASC for its support and hoped that the organizations would execute the budget based on their programs.
