DILI, 09 august 2024 (TATOLI) – The Country Superior Council of Defense and Security convened on friday in a high-level meeting chaired by President José Ramos-Horta.
The council focused on preparations for the upcoming high-level diplomatic visit. Specific security measures were discussed to safeguard the visiting dignitaries and prevent potential threats.
While they didn’t share the exact plans, it’s clear they’re taking many steps to make sure the visit goes well and safely. This shows how seriously the country takes its friendships with other nations and its own security.
The council, composed of key government officials and security advisors, gathered to discuss pressing national security matters.
A significant development at the meeting was the inclusion of the newly appointed Minister of Justice as a member of the council.
Following the recent swearing-in ceremony, the Minister of Justice took their place among the council members for the first time. This addition is expected to bring valuable legal expertise to the council’s deliberations on national security issues.
