Indonesian Embassy in Dili celebrates 79th Indonesian Independence Day

DILI, 17 august 2024 (TATOLI) – Indonesian Embassy in Dili held a ceremony to mark the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day on saturday, august 17, 2024, in Dili.

The event was led by Okto Dorinus Manik, the Indonesian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, with a flag-raising ceremony at the Indonesian Embassy, in Timor-Leste.

Many Indonesian nationals in Dili were enthusiastically gathered at the Indonesian embassy to enjoy the celebrations.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Timor-Leste said he was very pleased with the participation of many Indonesian citizens in the flag-raising ceremony.

The Indonesian citizens living in Timor-Leste were dressed in various traditional costumes, representing Indonesia’s diverse culture.

“This is the diversity of Indonesia, with various ethnic groups and religions,” said Manik.

Urbanus Useng Bunga Lolon, an Indonesian citizen who attended the event, was very pleased to be part of the celebration and wished Indonesia to move forward and become a prosperous and advanced country in the region.

Agus Feoh, another Indonesian citizen, also hoped that relations between Indonesia and Timor-Leste would grow closer and stronger.

More than 10,000 Indonesian citizens are currently living in Timor-Leste, according to the Indonesian Embassy in Dili.
