DILI, 02 september 2024 (TATOLI) – To commemorate the 10 september mass with Pope Francis in Tasi-tolu, the Catholic Church in Timor-Leste started giving out t-shirts today.
In an interview with TATOLI, Father Helio Castro Alves, the Administrator of São José Aimutin, disclosed that the Timor-Leste Catholic Church, via the Secretariat of the Institutional High-Level Commission for Pope Francis’s Visit, requested that all parishes prolong the registration period until September 5.
“The distribution of Pope Francis T-shirts has already taken place; therefore, we are asking Catholics to register in each parish until 5 September to get a free Pope Francis T-shirt to wear at the mass that will take place on 10 September in Tasitolu,’ Father Helio Castro Alves told Tatoli at São José Aimutin Church on monday.
Father Helio Castro Alves further stated that all registered parishioners in the municipality will begin receiving t-shirts for the mass with Pope Francis on September 02, regardless of when they registered.
“We were not given a standard for how many people should register, but the commission asked us to reopen until 5 september,” he said.
