DILI, 07 january 2024 (TATOLI) – Petroleum exploration activities in the PSC TL-OT-21-17, the Café 2D seismic survey was signed on monday, 6th January 2025 between Contractor TIMOR GAP Pualaca Block Unippessoal, Lda., (TGPB) and its sub-contractor BGP Inc., at The TIMOR GAP E.P. office Timor Plaza, Dili, Timor-Leste.
The Café 2D Seismic Acquisition is carried out under the Onshore Production Sharing Contract (PSC) TL-OT-21-17. This onshore PSC was awarded to TIMOR GAP Pualaca Block, Unippessoal, Lda., as a subsidiary of Timor-Leste’s national oil company TIMOR GAP, E.P. as a sole operator (100%) which was signed on the 7 of December 2021.
The Minimum Exploration Work Requirements in the initial period for the PSC include the acquisition of FTG survey, Amplified Geochemical Imaging Studies and 100Lkm 2D seismic survey. The FTG Survey acquisition with a total of 3149 Lkms with 500m line spacing for TIMORGAP Pualaca Block has been completed on 13 September 2022.
The TIMORGAP Pualaca Block encompasses a geologically promising region characterized by an active petroleum system including light sweet oil and gas seeps, as documented by Butler – Timor Oil Ltd (1958) within the contract area. To fulfill the commitments undersigned by PSC, TIMORGAP Pualaca Block is committed to undertaking Café 2D seismic with a total line of 266 LKM in the contract area. These foundational seismic data acquisition efforts are critical for delineating leads and prospects. The objective is to estimate the Total Petroleum Initially In-Place (PIIP) by integrating seismic survey data and other Geology and Geophysics (G&G) studies within the boundaries of the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) area, facilitating the identification of hydrocarbon accumulations.
TIMORGAP Pualaca Block is determined to be a successful company in exploring petroleum in the contract area and responsible for efficient, safe, and environmentally delivery of commitment under the PSC, while prioritizing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
