DILI, 17 january 2025 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Health (MoH), through the National Institute of Pharmacy and Medical Products (INFPM) destroyed expired pharmaceutical drugs and medical reagents.
“Today, we destroyed 165 types of drugs, reagents, and medical consumables from the Guido Valadares National Hospital, the National Health Laboratory, and the Stanford Medical, said INFPM’s Executive Director Brígido de Deus, in Metinaro, Dili.
He recalled that the expired medicines had been purchased between 2020 and 2024.
According to Brígido de Deus, most of the expired medicines were provided by the Global Fund, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
