DILI, 31 january 2025 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta met with World Food Program (WFP) Country Representative Jacqueline de Groot and government officials at the Presidential Palace today to discuss food security, nutrition, and social protection programs in the country.
During the meeting, discussions centered on advancing collaborative efforts between WFP and the Timorese government to strengthen the nation’s food security and social protection frameworks. The delegation presented potential future programs aimed at enhancing these vital sectors.
“We had a good discussion around this topic,” said WFP Country Representative Jacqueline de Groot following the meeting.
She emphasized that the dialogue focused on exploring opportunities for partnership in social protection initiatives, reflecting the shared commitment of both WFP and the government to improve the well-being of Timorese citizens.
