Govt to open tender for acquisition of new ambulance vehicles

DILI, 06 February 2025 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Health (MoH), through the National Service of Ambulance and Medical Emergency (SNAEM.IP) will open tender for the acquisition of the five new ambulance vehicles.

SNAEM’s Director, Simplício Amaral de Deus said that SNAEM has allocated US$300,000 for the acquisition of five new ambulances.

He said the new ambulance vehicles would be bought from Thailand.

Amaral pointed out that the five vehicles will consist of two units of Pediatric and Obstetric Ambulances, one unit of VIP Ambulance, and two units of Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances.

He said that the government will open Ambulance Vehicle Tenders, inviting local suppliers to submit bids to provide fully equipped ambulances that meet specific technical and medical requirements.

Amaral added that two of the ambulances will be distributed to the municipalities of Ainaro and Viqueque, which are crucial for saving lives, improving healthcare accessibility, and enhancing disaster response.

These well-equipped ambulances will provide advanced life support and basic life support to communities before reaching hospitals.
