DILI, 21 February 2025 (TATOLI) – The Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Indonesia, Roberto Soares, accompanied by the First Secretary Claudia Soares and the Second Secretary Joanico Gomes, met with the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Heru Setiawan.
“The meeting discussed and exchanged information on various interests related to the Judicial System, exploring the possibility of cooperation between the Constitutional Court of Indonesia and the Supreme Court of Appeal of Timor-Leste,” said in a statement.
During the meeting, they also reaffirmed their country’s commitment to upholding the principles of international law on the independence and sovereignty of States, good governance, democracy, and human rights.
The two parties also discussed the possibility of Timor-Leste’s interest in joining the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC).
The meeting took place in the Mahkamah Konstitusi meeting room in a very friendly and cordial atmosphere.
