DILI, 25 February 2025 (TATOLI) – The Technical Monitoring Committee (CTA-Portuguese) of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP-Portuguese) Games, led by Jorge Carvalho, met with the Secretary of State for Art and Culture, Jorge Cristóvão, to discuss preparations for the 12th edition of the CPLP Games, which will take place in Dili between 17 and 27 July.
Carvalho said that his team was pleased to be in Timor-Leste to monitor and supervise the country’s preparations for the upcoming games, including sports infrastructure, hospitals, and hotels.
Meanwhile, Cristóvão said that the CTA team appreciated the technical preparations and the government’s commitment to hosting the event.
During their stay, the CTA team will also meet with representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The team will inspect the infrastructures of the Volleyball and Tennis Courts, the Becora Sports Centre, the Dili Gymnasium, and the Dili Municipal Stadium.
Earlier this month, The Government of Timor-Leste, through the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Art and Culture (MJDAK-Tetun) held an inter-ministerial meeting to coordinate preparations for the games. During the meeting, representatives from various ministries discussed key preparations, including strengthening logistics preparedness, protocol, and event management.
