DILI, 25 February 2025 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta, and his Vietnamese counterpart Luong Cuong will hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN Future Forum 2025.
“President Ramos-Horta is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral meetings with Vietnamese leadership, including President Luong Cuong and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam,” said in a statement.
These discussions aim to strengthen diplomatic relations between Timor-Leste and Vietnam while advancing regional cooperation and development initiatives.
The Head of State and his delegation arrived, on Monday at Noi Bai International Airport in Vietnam at 16:50 local time. The Nobel Peace Laureate was received by Vietnam’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ngo Le Van, together with Timor-Leste’s Ambassador to Vietnam, João Pereira.
The President is in Vietnam on a four-day working visit from February 24-27 to participate in the ASEAN Future Forum 2025, themed “Building a United, Inclusive, and Resilient ASEAN Amidst Global Transformations.”
The forum brings together regional leaders to discuss challenges and opportunities facing the Southeast Asian bloc in an era of global change.
