DILI, 13 March 2025 (TATOLI) – President Jose Ramos Horta received the non-resident Ambassador of Spain to Timor-Leste, Francisco de Asis Aguilera Aranda, in a diplomatic meeting at the Presidential Palace.
“During the cordial exchange, both dignitaries discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations,” said in a statement.
The meeting centered on President Horta’s upcoming visit to Spain for the Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, highlighting Timor-Leste’s commitment to international development cooperation.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Aguilera Aranda expressed Spain’s eagerness to welcome the President for this important event.
Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing relations between ASEAN and the EU, with President Horta reaffirming Timor-Leste’s support for Spain and Europe.
The two also explored potential areas for collaboration within multilateral institutions, reflecting the growing diplomatic partnership between the two countries.
