Prime Minister Carney’s distinguished career as an economist and public servant, including tenure as Governor of both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, as well as his role as the United Nations Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance, reflects his unwavering commitment to addressing complex global challenges.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to The Right Honourable Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, on March 11th, 2025, President Ramos-Horta stated, “I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on Your Excellency’s recent election as Prime Minister of Canada, a testament to the trust and confidence of the Canadian people in your leadership during this pivotal moment in global affairs.”
