DILI, 24 March 2025 (TATOLI)– The Executive President of Prevention and Combating HIV/AIDS in Timor-Leste (INCSIDA, IP), Daniel Marçal, said INCSIDA, IP would sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in April with the Komisi Penangulangan AIDS (KPA), Kupang, Indonesia, to assist their treatment and medication in Kupang and Timor-Leste.

“We have agreed to sign the MoU in early April 2025, thus INCSIDA and KPA can work together to exchange the data of HIV/AIDS between both state institutions, aiming to facilitate the data of people with HIV/AIDS by helping them and assisting them through medication in Timor Leste and Kupang, Indonesia,” President of INCSIDA, Daniel Marçal, told TATOLI in his office, Luru-Mata, Dili.

He confirmed with the exchange of data that both citizens can take the medication for HIV/AIDS in Timor-Leste as well as in Kupang, saying HIV/AIDS patients had been handled by both state institutions during this time.

“After the MoU signing, the citizen of Indonesia who suffers from HIV/AIDS and wishes to visit Timor-Leste does not need to take the medication in KPA, Kupang, but can take the medicine in Timor-Leste through INSCIDA, IP, and also Timorese who suffer from HIV/AIDS can also take the medication in KPA, Kupang, both,” he added.

Based on the data, over 230 Indonesian citizens suffering from HIV/AIDS had received medication at INCSIDA IP in Timor-Leste, with over 100 Timorese citizens receiving medication in KPA Kupang, Indonesia, as part of a collaborative effort to assist patients with HIV/AIDS.
