TradeInvest conducts monitoring activity to Timor Marina Square project

DILI, 04 April 2025 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste TradeInvest, through the Directorate of Investment Promotion (DPI), conducted a monitoring activity to observe the implementation of the Timor Marina Square investment project in Lecidere, Dili.

The objective of this monitoring activity was to obtain the latest updates and directly observe the progress of the implementation of the Marina Square project while also gathering feedback on the challenges that the company has faced so far. 

“The team from the Directorate of Investment Promotion, who visited the Timor Marina Square S.A. site, noted that the activity of the company is in positive progress and has fulfilled its investment plan to build two (2) buildings where one will be 19 floors and will be used as Retail and Commercial Space and Hotel and the other building with 23 floors that intended to be Car Park, Restaurant, Swimming Pool, Office Building and Apartments,” TradeInvest said in a statement.

TradeInvest also noted that the company has employed 70 Timorese, including entrusting some to become engineers responsible for the construction project of the two buildings. 

According to TradeInvest, the construction has reached two floors and has spent over US$8 million out of the total projected investment capital of US$50 million. The company is committed to complete the construction of the two (2) buildings in 2026.

It’s recalled that the groundbreaking ceremony for the US$50 million project was launched by the former Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak on May 17, 2022.
