DILI, 08 April 2025 (TATOLI) – The Government of Timor-Leste, through the Human Capital Development Fund (FDCH), will offer scholarships to 374 Timorese to pursue higher studies overseas, the FDCH Executive Director, Júlio Aparício has said.
He said that the scholarships open opportunities for young Timorese who wish to obtain their bachelor’s degrees overseas.
According to Aparício, the selected candidates will be offered opportunities to study at universities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Cuba, Brazil, Portugal, and Thailand.
Their fields of study will include IT, law, tourism and hospitality, health, agriculture, and others.
He said that FDCH will discuss cooperation with the representatives of the overseas universities before sending the scholarship recipients.
Aparício said the rector of ATMI Polytechnic in Indonesia will arrive in Dili on 20 April to discuss the cooperation in preparation for sending 15 Timorese to study at the institution.
