DILI, 29 April 2025 (TATOLI) – The Malaysian Embassy in Timor-Leste will host the Malaysia Expo in Dili on May 9 and 10, 2025, at the Dili Convention Center.
The Expo aims to foster strong business partnerships among Malaysian entities Timor-Leste as well as providing opportunities to the Malaysian entities to explore new opportunities in the country. Meanwhile, it also aims to provide support for Timor-Leste’s ASEAN aspiration.
“In the run-up to the ASEAN Bazaar which is part of the Malaysian Expo to be held at the Dili Convention Centre (CCD) from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, 9 May 2025 — a total of 30 vendors from the ASEAN community in Timor-Leste gathered at the embassy’s WTC Conference Room to draw lots for the allocation of their respective stands within the CCD compound,” the Malaysian Embassy said in a statement.
At the much-awaited event, 19 vendors will offer ASEAN cuisine, while the remaining 11 will offer a variety of non-food items and services. During this morning’s session, vendors were also briefed on operating – including safety and security regulations.
The ASEAN Bazaar is expected to attract 1,000 visitors. Some 30 mainly Malaysian exhibitors from universities, polytechnics, the aviation, TVET/skill centres, healthcare, construction, oil & gas, manufacturing and tourism sectors will participate at MYExpo.
MyExpo which will be held in conjunction with Malaysia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN 2025, will also kicks-off the Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2026 campaign in Timor-Leste. Meanwhile, the ASEAN Bazaar is to be held in line with the Inclusivity and Sustainability theme of Malaysia’s Chairmanship, with cooperation of the embassies of Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand.
