DILI, 04 May 2025 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic of Timor-Leste has officially extended his congratulations to Anthony Albanese, MP, on the Labour Party’s victory in Australia’s recent federal elections, as well as to Lawrence Wong on the People’s Action Party’s resounding victory in Singapore’s recent general elections.
According to the letter dated May 4, 2025, accessed by TATOLI today, the President acknowledged Australia’s continued partnership in Timor-Leste’s journey toward peace, democracy, and sustainable development since the nation’s earliest days of independence
President Ramos-Horta commended Prime Minister Albanese’s leadership and his government’s commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, strengthening essential services, and climate action.
Similarly, the Timorese Chief of State has formally congratulated Lawrence Wong on the People’s Action Party’s resounding victory in Singapore’s recent general elections. In his letter dated May 4, 2025, the President recognizes Singapore as a model of effective governance and forward-looking policy in the region.
President Ramos-Horta reaffirmed Timor-Leste’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between our two nations and governments in the years ahead. (TATOLI)
