DILI, 14 May 2025 (TATOLI) – Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), a higher education institution in Makassar, Indonesia, has reaffirmed its commitment to continue providing scholarships to Timorese students.
The announcement was made by UNHAS Rector Jamaluddin Jompa during a press conference held at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport, following his visit to several universities in Dili, today.
Jompa highlighted that over the past three years, UNHAS has awarded scholarships to Timorese students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees, as well as postgraduate scholarships for both lecturers and students from various Timorese universities.
During his visit, the Rector met with key government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Mariano Assanami Sabino, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Culture José Honório, and Minister of Education Dulce de Jesus, to discuss ways to deepen academic collaboration.
