DILI, 17 June 2025 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste President to receive Honorary Doctorate from Taylors University.
The Honorary Doctorate will be awarded to the Head of State in recognition of his outstanding contributions to international human rights, diplomacy, conflict resolution and leadership.
On Monday, the National Parliament approved President Horta’s personal trip to Malaysia, scheduled for June 17 to 22. Today, the President departs for Malaysia to receive the honorary award.
Following his visit to Malaysia, President Ramos Horta will proceed to Monaco for an official visit scheduled from June 23 to 25. According to the request submitted to Parliament, the President will be abroad from June 17 to 26.
In 2022, Horta also received the honorary doctorate degrees from three universities in Cambodia — BELTEI International University, Cambodian University, and Paragon International University — in recognition of his capacity and contribution to the world in the areas of conflict resolution and leadership.
