DILI, 22 July 2025 (TATOLI) — Timor-Leste’s Siera Pinto clinched the gold medal in the Taekwondo women’s 49kg category at the 12th CPLP Games, held in Dili.
Pinto defeated Portugal’s Ana Clara Ribeiro 2–0 in a final match contested directly, as only two nations participated in the category.
Pinto said her victory was a reflection of the relentless effort and commitment she put into her preparation
“I dedicate this medal to my parents and the people of Timor-Leste,” said Pinto, emphasizing the strong support from the crowd and her commitment during training.
In another outstanding performance, Timorese athlete Deofia Barreto also claimed gold in the 46kg category, further boosting the host nation’s medal tally.
