DILI, 30 July 2025 (TATOLI) – The Government has approved funding and launched the bidding process for four major road rehabilitation projects in three municipalities – Bobonaro, Ermera, and Liquiça.
The road rehabilitation projects were presented by Public Works Minister Samuel Marçal during the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday.
The first project involves rehabilitating a 48.93-kilometre section of the National Road between the Lourba (Bobonaro) intersection, Atsabe, and the Letefoho (Ermera) intersection, with an estimated cost of US$47.9 million.
The second project covers a 26-kilometre stretch of National Road between Maliana, Cailaco, and the Marobo Bridge in Bobonaro Municipality, with a budget of US$25.6 million.
The third project targets the rehabilitation of an 8.9-kilometre municipal road linking the Bobonaro intersection to Lolotoe Vila, estimated at US$13.8 million.
The fourth project will rehabilitate 20 kilometres of urban roads in Liquiçá, with funding of US$19.8 million.
The Government also instructs the National Purchasing Commission to initiate the subsequent stages of the bidding procedures, in accordance with current legislation.
