DILI, 04 August 2025 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s National Police (PNTL) has launched a national recruitment campaign to hire 400 new officers.

The application period opens on 5 August. Applicants can collect forms and prepare documents until 29 August. Completed applications must be submitted between 12 August and 9 September.

The recruitment process will take place in all 12 municipalities, including the Special Administrative Regions of Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA) and Ataúro.

The opportunity is open to young Timorese who wish to serve the nation by joining the police force.

Deputy Police Commissioner Pedro Belo, who leads the recruitment process, called on applicants to collect forms at their local municipal command, RAEOA, Ataúro, or the Police Training Centre (CFP) in Dili.

“I encourage all young people to apply with discipline and responsibility. There is enough time to complete the process,” Belo said during a press briefing at CFP Comoro.

PNTL spokesperson António da Luz said the recruitment follows Ministerial Regulation No. 17/2025, which outlines the criteria for selecting new officers.

Da Luz stressed that all applicants will be treated equally. No special treatment will be given to children of police officers or veterans.
