DILI, 19 September 2025 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste will hold the second edition of the Tourism Investment Forum at the Dili Convention Centre from September 25 to 27.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, TradeInvest Timor-Leste, and the Timor-Leste Tourism Authority.
According to government officials, the forum is part of the country’s national tourism promotion strategy. The aim is to strengthen partnerships, attract investment, encourage innovative business opportunities, and showcase Timor-Leste’s unique tourism products and services.
In addition, the initiative also seeks to position Timor-Leste as a sustainable and inclusive tourism destination.
“The meeting will bring together local entrepreneurs, foreign investors, and government institutions to promote partnerships that foster sustainable growth in the tourism sector,” read a statement said.
The forum coincides with World Tourism Day, celebrated each year on September 27.
Industry experts and government representatives will participate, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and building strategic networks.
Timorese leaders will highlight Timor-Leste’s competitive advantages for investors. These include a young and growing economy, preferential access to 59 international markets, competitive labour costs, and an attractive tax regime offering exemptions of up to ten years.
